Be Flexible!!! It’s a Brian Dorfman Flexibility Training DVD Review and Giveaway!!!

Those of you who know me personally, know that I have to be one of the most inflexible people on the planet. No, I am not talking super stubborn, I am not going to be flexible on this inflexible. I am talking stretchy flexible!!! I can’t even touch my toes with a slight brushing of a fingertip. I can stare at my toes so fearce and reach with determination, and nope, my fingers and my toes never meet.

I am not going to lie, it bothers me!! Okay, I better not lie about this either. If I am in a hurry after a workout the first thing to go is?……… Nope, your wrong.  Strength training goes first, then stretching!!! So, I guess I can’t be too upset about it, but it does still bug me that I can’t touch my toes whenever I want to without bending my knees.

So when I was given the opportunity to try Brian Dorfman’s Flexibility Training DVD, I jumped at the chance. Now I was hoping that it wasn’t going to be like all the yoga type stretching DVD’s that I had tried, because, I have tried many and usually I wasn’t able to even do the first move. One because I am not flexible and two I am not flexible!!!

When I received the dvd I grabbed a towel and popped the dvd in. The whole training series goes through about twelve moves and it is about 25 minutes long, so you are not investing too much time. I was expecting to watch most of the dvd the first time around, because I figured I wouldn’t know what the crap I was doing. To my surprise the dvd was perfect for me!!! There is no crazy moves that I can’t do, and over the last six weeks I think that I have made some kick butt strides to being the best inflexible person, or the worst flexible person (which ever way you like it) there is. I mean this is saying a lot for me!!!

Now prepare to be amazed.

Yay! I am touching my toes. My beloved toes!!

Are you impressed? Oh I am so impressed. I have wanted to randomly touch my toes my whole life. I had to take the pic (or more so my three-year-old), in jeans, still sore from running the half marathon, and I had not even stretched beforehand. Now are you impressed? Normally this would have taken me at least an hour of stretching to accomplish.
Now the dvd says that doing the flexibility training as little as three times a week, that I would become more flexible. They are not lying!!!

Want a closer look? Okay

Yes, that would be my fingers wrapped under my toes!!

Now, I am not sure if I will ever be one of those peeps that can put their palms on the floor, but dang it I am just happy to have arrived where I am!!

So, why do I want to be more flexible you ask? Well really it is not only to be able to randomly touch my toes, but I really want to recover faster after hard runs, and stay injury free as much as possible!! (I dislike injuries very much so!!)

I have also discovered that I really enjoy doing the Flexibility Training DVD before I go to bed. Why you ask? Because at the end there is a little rest section called, wait for it……”Rest”. I know what a great name for resting right?!! Anyway, it is just calming after a long day, and I like it!!!

Oh, and I found a favorite line in the dvd that really motivates me. It goes along these lines. “Keep stretching and train and race forever.” Ummmm awesome right?!!

Here are some other statements Brian said that I really like, “I have no doubt that the three components needed to reach peak fitness are cardiovascular conditioning, strength, and flexibility.” It is just a good reminder that when in a hurry that I still need to make my strength training and flexibility training as big as a priority as I make my cardio training.

One more okay?

“If you take responsibility for your body, the aging factor can be virtually negated; and in most cases, flexibility can be increased for measurable performance gains.” I have witnessed this first hand with my dad (which you all know is 77 years young). This amazing man has made fitness as a whole a priority in his life. He has found great balance with the three components mentioned above, and if you were to meet him you would probably guess he is in his early 60’s. He still runs, and he is still super adventurous. (Yes, and he is one of those peeps that can place the palms of his hands on the ground. You see why we are all trying to follow in his fitness footsteps right?)

So, would you like to balance your fitness routine by adding some Flexibility Training? Well here is your opportunity to try Brian Dorfman’s Flexibility Training DVD. All you need to do is enter the giveaway.

About Kathi

I am a runner! I am a mom of three and wife to one!!! I started running in high school, and it seems I was never able to shake it off. I have tried to breakup with running many times, but running just seems to always be a part of my life. I have been running so long that my husband runs, my sisters run, my brother runs, my 76 year old dad runs. I feel like if I can't breakup with running I better bring everyone else I love into the fold! I guess you could call our relationship a love/hate relationship. I sure hate running when I wake up for a race at 4:30 in the morning, but I sure love it when I cross the finish line!!!
